I often get asked about my favourite products in beauty, cleaning, fashion etc so I thought I’d start a little series sharing my top five products in certain categories. Today I’m going to share my top five products for being a mum; the five things that as a mum I just couldn’t live with out – here it goes:

1 Handheld vacuum cleaner

As you may know we have a lovely lady who comes in to clean our house for us once a week so she gives all of the floors a thorough vacuum. However, with three little boys crawling/running around I certainly couldn’t leave all of their crumbs for that once a week vacuum and as the crumbs are usually isolated to certain areas such as underneath the highchair or Jasper’s table I don’t really need to do a full on vacuum each day. SO, my solution is my good old Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner. I have a cordless one ( I’m not sure on the model but it practically lives in the handheld mode. I charge it up every night and have it on stand by ready for after meal and snack times. It’s so quick and easy to just vacuum up any crumbs after the boys are done and I also use to around the front door as Jasper hasn’t quite mastered the art of wiping his shoes on the doormat yet! DSC07333

2 Anti-bac spray

I’m in no way a germophobe, of course I don’t like germs but I’m more than happy to let my boys crawl around in the mud chew on sticks however I like to keep those kind of germs outside of my house. I’m a huge fan of anti-bac and I love using products that kill 99.9% of bacteria; it just leaves me feeling satisfied and gives me a bit of peace of mind. Now I used to use Dettol; I had a variety of their products but mainly stuck to the multi purpose surface spray that needed wiping in with a cloth and the all-in-one waterfall spray that you could literally spray on everything and leave it with no wiping. They were both fantastic however I recently made the switch to natural based cleaning products and now use the Method anti-bac spray. I have it in wild rhubarb scent and also pink grapefruit and not only do they work just as well but they smell incredible and I always get compliments on how nice my house smells when I use them! DSC07331

3 Hand sanitiser

Again, I promise I’m not a germophobe, not that there’s anything wrong with that I just know that kids need germs to build up an immune system and to keep your kids away from germs when they regularly visit soft play and preschool would just be unrealistic. I d love a good hand sanitiser though for public toilets mainly as Jasper tends to let the soap wash off his hands before he even rubs it in; and also for when we’re eating out. I use a fab one called Aquaint which kills 99.9% of bacteria and yet is natural and completely safe to drink! I don’t know how they do it, magic probably, but it’s perfect for spraying directly onto the kids hands and even Jenson’s dummies and bottles without needing to rinse them off.

4 BB Cream

I’m pretty basic when it comes to my make up, if you’ve seen my minimalism videos then you’ll know that I got rid of so much as I pretty much stick to a handful of products. The one that I couldn’t do without though is bb cream, specifically my Bare Minerals one. It gives me good coverage, a bit of colour, moisturises my skin and has spf too. If I were only able to bring one beauty product to a desert island it would certainly be that! DSC07330

5 Baby wipes

Last but by no means least, baby wipes! I don’t know a mother who wouldn’t have this on their essentials list, I use them for so many things! Of course it’s main purpose is for nappy changing but i also use them for wiping sticky hands, cleaning baby sick and toddler crumbs off my jeans, wiping the boys trainers if they’ve stood in mud, cleaning up spills quickly before I have a chance to get my cleaning products out, wiping yucky noses and mucky faces; I even clean the dash of my car with them! The ones that I use are Water Wipes as they’re so gentle and natural but I will use any brand really if we run out. DSC07329
